Carbon Management Policy

Carbon Management Policy

At Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport (PMIA), we are committed to proactive carbon management as an integral part of our operations and environmental responsibility. Our carbon management plan focuses on reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and improving carbon efficiency through a range of innovative strategies and technologies.

We aim to minimize our environmental impact by implementing effective carbon-saving measures and considering low-carbon alternatives in every aspect of airport operations. This commitment not only benefits our customers, employees, contractors, and stakeholders but also supports the local community in which we operate.

Our Commitments:

  • Identify and monitor GHG emissions across all airport operations and activities.
  • Continuously assess and refine policies and practices to achieve carbon neutrality.
  • Implement strategies to reduce emissions significantly and actively manage their impact.
  • Conduct regular training and raise awareness about environmental impacts among staff, stakeholders, and service users.
  • Set clear carbon reduction targets and integrate them into our business and operational strategies.
  • Pursue energy reduction initiatives across airport facilities and activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including tenants, contractors, and government authorities, to identify and implement emission reduction opportunities.
  • Communicate our carbon management progress and performance transparently with all stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental laws and regulations.

These initiatives are aligned with our broader Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) policy and will be regularly reviewed to incorporate the latest industry best practices and methodologies.
